The kids started another season of soccer on Saturday and though it is SPRING, we froze our butts off on the field. It was great to see them all in action after a long, snow filled winter indoors.
We started with my little on at 9 a.m sporting beautiful blue shirts this season. They drew from a hat for a team name and came up with “Blue Dolphins” to which my angel shrugged her shoulders, announced, “That name really sucks” and walked away. Ah lovely! Thankfully it the game was over but it seems like we still need to work her on her attitude!
Next up was her big sister at 11:00 and somehow it seemed to get colder out. Bless her this child has inherited my
lack of athletic skills but she got out there and played her heart out. I saw definite improvement since the fall and I pray that she can achieve her GOAL in life right now of scoring just ONE GOAL this season. :)
At 2:00 we had my son’s game. I feel bad saying this but the boys games are way more exciting to watch. Maybe they move faster or there’s more action but the time flies.
On Sunday the weather was much better for outside sports! My son was very excited to start-up his roller hockey again after recently completing winter ice hockey. Moving forward soccer will start to recede as he gets more involved with hockey, his stated passion. :)
The weekends are busy, but we are together, outdoors and the kids are active. Truth be told I wouldn’t have it any other way. :)
Are you running around like crazy on the weekends too now that spring has arrived?
